Classes Complete
Hail fellows. Pleased to report one years worth of Grad-Phil classes complete. Two examinations remain.
This morning I turned in a paper arguing that contrary to the view of most twentieth-century scholars, Giles of Rome (13th Century) and Domingo Banes (16th Century) use the Latin word res in a sense that is compatible with St. Thomas's arguments for the real distinction between essence and existence. It was a fun topic to write and research, involving reading lots of Latin. The topic's sheer obscurity made it seem worthwhile.
Prost.
