A Day of Days....!?!?
Today October fourth is a historical day for a great many reasons according to Wikipedia, including:
On October 4, 610 A.D. Heraclius arrives by ship from Africa at Constantinople, overthrows Byzantine Emperor Phocas and becomes Emperor. (You do not even know who these people are! Poor show ol' boy! Move on, keep reading.)
On October 4, 1824 A.D. - Mexico adopts a new constitution and becomes a federal republic. (The birth of Mechiko! yawza!)
On October 4, 1957 A.D. - Launch of Sputnik I, the first artificial satellite to orbit the Earth. Yeah! Space!
On October 4, 1958 A.D. - Fifth Republic of France established. (Okay. France sucked then and still sucks... but at least they were trying...)
But wait ranked without distinction with these historical events and milestones are:
On October 4, 1957 A.D. - The CBS television show Leave it to Beaver debuts (starring Jerry Mathers as "The Beaver"). (What?!?!)
On October 4, 2006 A.D. - Lost (TV series) begins airing its 3rd season. (You have got to be kidding me!!!! I feel so lost (pun intended)!
This post sheds some light on what is worth while and important (or at least worth mentioning) in American popular culture. Wikipedia is the new encylopedia of the masses, the democratic consolidation of information and I am not too sure it is working as well as it could be.
The Byzantine Emperor Phocas would be pissed, but would he like to watch 'leave it to beaver'? Would he get the jokes... I sure don't.
~awesome sean
~ Now that I think of it, i retract my statement and apologize. France is as important as the debut of a third season of a television show or at least close...

Happy Feast Day Sean F. McNally!
Are you freaking kidding me, Sean? More importantly than anything related to YOU or Phocas or CBS is a day to be remembered for eons. Today, my friend, is AwesomeDay. This day dates back to Oct. 4, 1984 when magic happened. A son was born to Michael and Debra, who would eventually become ruler of the entire known world. This child - nay, immortal titan - is named . . . Me.
I am glad Brendon got my hint to shower me with praise!!! It is MY SAINT'S DAY, MY NAME SAKE!!!
Thank you Brendan, and the rest of you, for shame!!!
Is it really your birthday, Davy?
Happy Birthday!!!! You are now 22 and just as smelly as you were when you were 21!!!
I will have a drink in your honor tonight, and mentally do the Ave Toast!
Happy Feast Day Sean and Happy B-Day Dave-O. I hope you guys had a glorious day and are still enjoying what is left of it. For as we can see time goes by and most things are insignificant unless it is your feast day or b-day. Enjoy!!!
Happy Birthday Dave! I did not know it was today! Hope you have a great time!
One of the many good things about saying the breviery so early in the morning...you are on top of patronal feast days!
that party was so good we should have an encore presentation.
oh that's right, we are.
oh and p.s. sean: I'm utterly utterly heartbroken about Mary Ann. Does her husband beat her?
