"A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart." (from Faust)
I am reading Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe!
This picture is Goethe... he is... what is the word I am looking for... Oh Yeah! AWESOME!
I am thinking about a whole wardrobe change. What do you think? At least the shoes...
He said among other things:
“Everybody wants to be somebody; nobody wants to grow.”
“If I accept you as you are, I will make you worse; however if I treat you as though you are what you are capable of becoming, I help you become that”
“The really unhappy person is the one who leaves undone what they can do, and starts doing what they don't understand; no wonder they come to grief.”
And two that fit this blog best:
"To know someone here or there with whom you can feel there is understanding in spite of distances or thoughts expressed ~ That can make life a garden."
"One ought, everyday, to hear a song, read a fine poem, and if possible, to speak a few reasonable words." (I am speaking a few reasonable words, listening to some great tunes, and you are reading a fine poem! [Taking Free Verse to a New Level])
Goethe's 'Faust' is more precisely what I am reading!
f aust & mephistopheles :
I am almost done. It is a fantastic read and I highly recommend you all go and pick it up. READ IT NOW!
It is almost unbelievable that I made it through Ave as a literature major and never had to read this play.
But anyway I still have more to read and as a Merry Person dost say,"Tommorrow's late for what's not done today" (225).
The procrastination never ends, but, "If God had wanted me otherwise, He would have created me otherwise."
~awesome sean
P.S. It is good, but I don't sell your soul for it. (HA!)

That's a nice argument for your confirmed GAYness. :P
why is the formatting on this sight weird...or if I could say it...not so "awesome"...there is always this huge space from the top to the first post.
it's because of my awesome demotivation pictures. I'll fix it.
Didn't you read Marlowe's Faust for Benthall?
If so, how does Goethe's rendition compare? I had a lot of fun reading the Marlowe version.
And Thom,
perhaps God did create you otherwise? An interesting thought to ponder over coffee or a beer.
Haven't seen Sean so excited in awhile. Check out all those exclamation pts.
Yup. Benthall had us read Marlowe's Dr. Fautus! Notice the difference in title. Goethe's is quite different. There is a big love interest, Margarite and ... well you will have to read it to find out!
notice the quotation marks, Dom. :)
I will qoutation mark you in the head!
