Tornadoes strike Texas, Louisiana - CNN.com

The lovely Houston weather closed the library 8 hours early driving me to my room. Are you fellows keeping dry?

Tornadoes strike Texas, Louisiana - CNN.com: "Tornadoes strike Texas, Louisiana

(CNN) -- At least four tornadoes were reported to have touched down Monday morning in southeast Texas and southern Louisiana, the National Weather Service said.
At least four people were hurt in southern Louisiana, where boats came loose from their moorings, and a gas line ruptured, near the town of Leesville, according to reports. Mobile homes also were reported overturned, trapping people inside.
More than 20 tornado warnings were issued in a two-hour period Monday in southeastern Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, including the Houston and New Orleans metropolitan areas, according to the NWS. (Watch forecast for a wet Monday -- 2:07)
At least 10 inches of rain fell in the Houston-Galveston area of Texas overnight, according to the NWS. KHOU-TV, citing Houston police, reported on its Web site that two women drowned in an SUV on Interstate 45 (the road between Dallas and Texas which I was driving about 2am last Monday).
The Associated Press reported that a dozen Houston-area school systems cancelled classes on Monday because of flooded roads and power cuts.
Coastal flooding in southern Louisiana threatened homes near the town of Leesville. A combination of high tides and strong southeasterly winds caused many roadways and homes along the Gulf Coastal region to flood, the NWS said.
Heavy rain -- 4 to 6 inches in some places -- is expected across the southern- and mid-Mississippi Valley and the Ohio River Valley on Monday. The rain is expected to slowly move eastward Tuesday, bringing the chance of flooding to other areas of the Southeast."

Nope. I was driving my housemate's car back from Isaac's wedding in New Mexico. Powered by a frappucino and a gadarade, I made good time along the highways. My housemate, William, perfers to keep his license well-regarded by driving like Brendan (think the way to Stratford), so in my impatience I was quite eager to drive.

Wait just one damn minute... what or who is "gadarade"? And why have I not been informed?

"Gatorade" was invented by scientists at the University of Florida to "aid" the "Gators" (sports teams, primarily the football team). Another factoid: concession stands at FSU (Florida State University, UF's chief rival) refuse to serve the beverage. Instead, they stock Powerade. 'Cause who wants to help a gator do anything? Well, actually, I do. My brother and my brother-in-law both went to UF. My sister, on the other hand, graduated from FSU. So, what I do is buy Powerade and Gatorade and mix equal portions just to be fair. No I don't. I just drink water.
