Awesome and unconventional in the past two weeks

Hope you all enjoyed an awesome feast of the Canadian Martyrs yesterday. Isaac and Colleen just got back from having their marriage blest by the Pope and several days in Malta. For Isaac's Onomasticon yesterday they hosted a small party, and we drank awesome Scotch-Whiskey from a small island in the Heberdies, a wedding gift to them coming from, if I'm not mistaken, Isaac's English friend Alan (an Oxford and ITI graduate).
Isaac's wedding was, as Sean and Thom would certainly expect, awesome. The wedding itself took place in the local Ukranian Catholic Church. The liturgy and music were duly awesome, not to mention the crowns the priest placed on Isaac and Colleen which, according to Ukranian Catholic practice, made them married. Marriage by crowning was a new notion to me. I don't know if it is to you fellows, but even so, no need to consult your Dad on this one, Thom, as they exchanged vows as well, and before they were crowned. So both East and West should be satisfied that they are married.
While in New Mexico, I stayed at the US Airforce base where the wedding reception was held. Nice base. I never been to a military installation before, but I must compliment you fellows for bases. The surprised me however but not checking any of my identification when I entered the base. The water even came out hot right away from the shower in the hotel room. While I was there, though unbeknownst to me, the nuclear explosion detector deep beneath the base took notice of North Korea's test.
The scenery in the area around Albuquerque is spectacular. The mountains are not especially high, but after you have driven all day through West Texas, it is like entering the Promised Land. Very beautiful. Awesome even.
Hurrying along with this post and skipping over some fun parts, including chatting with Jeff of ITI whose last name I never remember, I had rather an odd evening on Wednesday. Early in the day, I encountered a student here on campus whom I had never spoken to before, though I had seen her numerous times at daily Mass and adoration (it is easy to remember all the people you see there as daily Mass attendance at this place is extraordinarily sparse), and she invited me to a local young couple's place to talk with a group about an encyclical. Proving that I am not nearly so busy as Sean, I took her up on the offer, knowing little what to expect but eager for some variation on the routine. The couple hosting the event were Stubbie graduates and the company was assorted including a fellow from Winnipeg who had come to Houston to working for Enron, a SSPX lady, a catechumen with an accent so strong I could hardly understand what she was saying a number of times, a son of the editor of the journal The Latin Mass, and a lady who thinks that the Sun revolves around the earth. Nice people and all that. Very hospitable. Solid on matters pertaining to Cardinal Sodano. Very interested in and not rejecting Vatican II (the SSPX lady being an obvious exception). An odd introduction to being a moderate (a novel experience indeed). The fellow leading the evening is named Peter Park and looks like Toby Maguire in Spider Man, even to the point of Peter Parker hair.

Check out this link below from our awesome friend Joe Bambenek (aka Superman). It concerns his intended nuptials (in fact its his wedding planner page including a count down to the date). I hope that none of you are too scandalised. Though, honestly, I think you will be impressed. Fr. Ed should see this.

Wow! You get the verbosity award for that blog!

I have to agree... U.S. Airforce bases are awesome.

Also...just a note the correct spelling is for the islands off the west coast of Scotland are the Hebrides (I just had to take the opportunity to correct Domenic...the occurance is so rare).
